In caliginous night I wandered a realm untamed,
‘neath skies of violet, ochre flamed
A canvas of hues, fat clouds and wilds
Accumulated wisdom and heart of a child
Beneath an opalescent moon soft lit
The land comports as I see fit
For there in reverie, the world hushed and still
A place where magic bent the world at will
Rivers twist through valleys and runnels
Canyons sink and wind carves tunnels
I am the land and the land is me
And time is the words that tell my story
What destiny have I self wrought
From the ashes of ambitions forgot
When I look upon the path lamented
Smoke and dust, visions fragmented
Despite ignominy I seek to atone
The belief that I walk this path alone
Grains of desultory sand gathered from the swirl
And through my absolution, soul forges into pearls
So let the waking world continue on,
In tranquil quietude breaks new dawn
In realms where the real and unreal blend,
A king am I, in dreams with no end
