The Fox’s Wedding

See them scamper, see them run
A forest gathering has begun
See them move through shaded glen
See them emerge from earthen den

In woodland glad where trees stand tall
The foxes gather before the call
Beneath a sky with no clouds in sight
The procession appeared in joy and delight

Squirrels with tambourines, a chaotic beat
The rabbits drumming swift and fleet
A hedgehog plucks spines with fervent pace
An owl hums with wizened grace

The groom in sly and russet hue
The bride in orange speckled review
They pledged their vows in golden spring
Amidst the mushrooms of the fairy ring

The wind bears witness, the leaves applaud
Thunder rumbles blessings abroad
The sun shines bright yet raindrops fall
The fox’s wedding holds them enthrall

The howls and yips in misty air
Daisy wreaths upon their lair
They danced beneath the sun-kissed shower
An enchanted promise beneath the bower
