As long night wanes and chill departs
And sunlight warms the frozen hearts
Hushed breath bates upon the breeze
The coming rebirth of meadow and trees
The first bulb shoots from frost limned ground
A green uprising of whispered sound
A Daisy unfurls in modest repose
The vanguard sprout ’til revolution grows
A sudden outburst, warm hands greet day
A cacophony of color, a riotous display
The promise fulfilled, the new song to sing
The glorious choir, first flowers of Spring
In rapturous splendor, the lilies of the field
A land exultant has finally healed
The birds full wing in joyous rhapsody
The bees dance wild in wondrous ecstacy
The flowers sway in sweet winds swing
Where, oh Death, does lie your sting?
To shadows and glades the specter retreats
Life reigns once more as the cycle repeats
For no winter lasts, no night remains
The dawn’s light chases away the rains
There’s a time for clouds and a time for blue
There’s time to bloom the beautiful you
So let your heart shine in rays of gold
Embrace the sun and release the cold
For in this season do not despair
The new day’s vow, hope is everywhere
